Restorative practice is an emerging social science with roots in indigenous communities worldwide. RP science teaches how to strengthen relationships between individuals as well as social connections within communities. Recognized by NEA and AFT, in schools, students experience safety and a sense of belonging leading to improved behavior, and less bullying, and violence. Keith Hickman, IIRP Director of Continuing Education will present restorative practices and its supporting research. Rosie Grant, Paterson Education Fund, will teach to proactive peace-building circle and a responsive circle, the basis of the practices.
