Learn how ten organizations, known as the Reads Initiative, collaborate to enlist families to support their children’s education in underresourced NYC communities. Hear from a principal, a parent, a library coordinator, and a business leader about how effectively engaging families shifts school and community culture, improves home learning, boosts reading outcomes, and creates opportunities for civic engagement. Engage in small group exercises to experience how families can become active in their children’s education.
