Philadelphia’s Informal Learning Initiative connects families and community organizations with cultural institutions in their region and brings content-rich learning opportunities outside the walls of large institutions and into neighborhood spaces that are more accessible to families. This session will explore how Philadelphia has created opportunities for informal learning programming and offer strategies for (1) creating a city-wide vision, (2) ensuring authentic community engagement, and (3) building organizations’ ability to implement high-quality programming.
