How Philanthropy Can Support Local Solutions During School Closures

Join Grantmakers for Education, Southern California Grantmakers, and the Los Angeles County Office of Education for a strategy call Wednesday, March 18, at 1 PM PDT. We will hear from Dr. Debra Duardo, Superintendent of LACOE, and Dr. John Garcia, Chief Deputy of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation at LACOE, and GFE board members.

Speakers will:

• Share their efforts to support the range of student needs in Los Angeles in this crisis moment;
• Discuss coordination with government (Governor’s Office and Departments of Education and Public Health);
• Describe how they are currently coordinating with philanthropy to receive and deploy resources;
• And invite feedback from funders and plan for next steps with members of GFE and SCG.

This webinar will be California-focused but will offer ideas for those in other areas.
