Collaborative Grants as Catalysts for Quality Early Learning

Register here. In states and communities challenged with limited resources for early childhood education, how can learners be served with quality programs at this vital early stage? In partnership with W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Mississippi developed an innovative grant program, Early Learning Collaboratives, that serves as a catalyst to create high-quality early learning. These state grants are awarded to partnerships in communities where school districts, Head Start and private child care providers work together to ensure all children receive high-quality early learning opportunities before they reach kindergarten.

With these grants, Mississippi State Superintendent Carey Wright and her team have been able to strengthen the capacity at her agency to reach all areas of the state and build a system to implement family engagement strategies, establish strong partnerships with early childhood providers, and create a climate of striving toward high quality programming for young children. On this webinar, Superintendent Wright and representatives from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation will discuss how their partnership created community collaboration and long-lasting statewide change for early learning in Mississippi.
