This session explores how Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is a model district for developing the capacities in students to strengthen our democracy. With visionary leadership at the district level, community engagement, and key philanthropic stakeholders, CPS is implementing a district-wide vision to prepare students for success in college, career, and civic life. Participants will learn about the role of philanthropy in supporting district work to to strengthen student voice, build democratic cultures, and embed civics across the curriculum, while centering equity and sustainability.
