To ameliorate the inequities the County’s students face, the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) formed a public/private partnership to develop the Community Schools Initiative (CSI). CSI builds equity for students by highlighting areas of need and leveraging community resources so that students are healthy, prepared for college and career, and civic ready.
At this session, participants will learn how LACOE and their foundation, Greater LA Education Foundation, worked with philanthropic partners and county agencies to implement a CSI pilot at 15 high-needs districts.
