Briefing: Supporting Immigrant and Refugee Students and Families in a Changing Policy Environment

Join Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR), Grantmakers for Education, and other co-sponsors for a special funders’ briefing on efforts to support immigrant and refugee students in California. The briefing will take place at The California Endowment in Los Angeles from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Pacific time. You can also join in San Francisco or by phone.

Given current threats and opportunities facing immigrant students and families, philanthropy has a critical role to play in ensuring that educators and community-based organizations are equipped to respond their unique needs. Participants will hear directly from school officials who are actively seeking to address the needs of immigrant and refugee students and families, as well as aligned efforts to advance a coordinated statewide approach to serving this population.
