Dual Language Learners and English Learners represent a significant portion of all children and youth in the United States. One-third of children ages 0 to 8 are Dual Language Learners, who are learning both their home language and English. One in 10 K12 students are English Learners working toward achieving English proficiency in school. In this session, we will discuss who these children and youth are, how state systems can support their success, and how philanthropy can play a meaningful role as a partner in this work.
