Join the Learning, Evaluation & Data (LEAD) Impact Group Q4 meeting with special guest Dr. Matthew Soldner, National Center for Education Evaluation and Regional Assistance (NCEE) commissioner and chief evaluation officer at the U.S. Department of Education. He will join us for an intimate conversation about the department’s efforts to build and use evidence. Among many responsibilities, Matt is helping develop the ED’s first-ever learning agenda that will be released next year. Matt will share his ideas about how philanthropy and federal government can better align when it comes to topics we care about—data, evaluation and learning!

National Center for Education Evaluation Commissioner and Chief Evaluation Officer at the U.S. Department of Education

Dr. Matthew Soldner has served as Commissioner of NCEE since 2018. In that role, Dr. Soldner also serves as the Department of Education's Chief Evaluation Officer. Dr. Soldner's expertise includes the design and implementation of complex, mixed-methods evaluations; innovative practices designed to improve student outcomes after high-school; postsecondary competency-based education; federal financial aid; and federal statistical policy and practice. His Ph.D. is from the University of Maryland's College of Education.
