In a polarized political environment, educators are increasingly turning their attention to the original purpose of public education: preparation for effective citizenship. It’s a clarion call for education philanthropy to ensure that schools are promoting civic skills for all learners. This session will present research findings on the Democracy Prep’s impact (increased voting and registration), discuss the model, share alumni experiences, and explore implications for funders investing in civic engagement interventions across schools and in communities.
